4 Properties inscribed on the World Heritage List - Since the Albanian membership in this organization on October 16, 1958, the spirit of cooperation has been constant and focused in all four areas of the Organization's activity, namely education, science, culture, and communication. The first Albanian site to be included on the list was Butrint, in the south of the country, in 1992. It has been inhabited since prehistoric times and was a part of the Greek and Roman colonies. We would like to show you the most of this tour, mixed with the amazing Karavasta National Park, and very important religious cults that hold history. Gjirokastra is a unique testimony of a cultural tradition of life during the XIV – XIX centuries. Albanian Folk Iso-polyphony has been proclaimed a “masterpiece of the oral heritage of humanity” and protected by UNESCO.

We depart this first morning, to visit Divjakë-Karavasta National Park offers a beautiful experience for all nature lovers, especially bird watchers. About 230 different species of birds populate the area of the park that embraces the lagoons of “Karavasta,” “Godulla” and “Pishës e Spiaxho.” The most popular is undoubtedly the curly pelican, a species considered endangered.
The next visit is also beautiful, If we could choose the one place where you will have your most memorable encounter with history in Albania, it would have to be the ancient city of Apollonia, founded in the sixth century B.C. Situated in southwestern Albania, about 13 miles from the city of Fier, this city was built by Greek colonizers on the lands of the Taulantii Illyrian tribe.
A relaxing walk in Vlore, which sits on a bay that marks the meeting of the Adriatic and the Ionian seas, which means clean waters and brilliant beaches. With over 300 sunny days a year, too, it’s easy to see why it’s a popular beach resort.

Saranda is one of the most charming cities on the Albanian Riviera during the summer months. The very next morning, our driver will take us through the amazing Llogara National Park. Vlora has it all, as after it, it starts at the seaside of Riviera Albanese. Today will be a heavy one, as we visit the Castle of Porto Palermo, without missing the Butrint National Archaeological Park. The real traces of the Roman Empire in our land... The Microcosmos of Mediterranean. The first Albanian site to be included in UNESCO’s World Heritage is Butrint.

We depart the very next to, for the visit of The Blue Eye, which is famous for its stunning beauty and clear turquoise water. The water is so clear that you can see all the way through to the bottom and observe the light blue bubbles rising to the surface.
As we will enjoy lunch with the locals in Labov village, we will visit the village of Labove e Kryqit, located near the small town of Libohova, which is one of the oldest and the most beautiful Byzantine churches in Albania, dedicated to St. Mary. The Church was built in 554 in the time of Emperor Justinian. Four years later Justinian directed that a Golden Cross, made of pieces of wood from the Jesus Cross, be enshrined in the church. The Cross was covered with 600 gr of gold.
We arrive for the last visit to the Skendulaj house, What makes Skenduli’s house so special? Its structure shows that this has been the richest house in Gjirokastra because it had 9 fireplaces, (many fireplaces richer than the family was); 6 bathrooms, 12 rooms, 44 doors, 64 windows, and 4 Hamam (Turkish bath).

We depart for a visit to the famous Berat City which is one of the oldest cities in Albania and still bears traces of its many periods — from antiquity to the medieval era to modernity. , Optionally we suggest the winery and lunch, to continue exploring "The Onufri National Iconographic Museum", located in The Dormition of St Mary, the Kala quarter's Cathedral ( dating to the XVIII century). This post-Byzantine style church is characterized by a magnificent gold-plating wooden Iconostasis and possesses collections of icons, artworks, and artifacts dating to the XIV through XIX centuries. The collection also includes important religious works by the great artist Onufri, who developed his activity in the XVI century, and his school of painters.
