In this tour, we would like to spend a whole day, visiting the capital, and exploring Tirana and its development over the last 10 years. Tirana has an incredible history and culture to discover. And you can see it reflected in their museums, architecture, and landmarks. From the Ottoman Empire to communist rule, there are pieces of history scattered around the city.
Durrësi, the biggest seaport in the country, is located 34km away from Tirana. It is the most ancient city in Albania or the eternal city over the Adriatic Sea, with almost 3,000 years of history. Its foundation dates back to 627 B.C. when the Corinthians and settlers from Corcyra invaded the Illyrian territory of the Taulanti.
Surrounded by mesmerizing sceneries, lush greenery, and adventures, with its fortified center, Berat houses many Albanian treasures of historical and cultural significance. A tribute to the country’s unique architecture, religious tolerance, and Ottoman-era buildings, this city is a true gem.

As the highway connects in the capital with the biggest port in the next 40 minutes, apart from the beaches there is also the city itself, which contains an ancient Roman amphitheatre and other historic buildings as well as a waterfront promenade, pretty town squares, mosques and other attractions.

After the next 1.5 h, we expect to arrive in Berat, which optionally we suggest the winery and lunch, to continue exploring "The Onufri National Iconographic Museum", located in The Dormition of St Mary, the Kala quarter's Cathedral ( dating to XVIII century). This post-Byzantine style church is characterized by a magnificent gold plating wooden iconostasis, possesses collections of icons, artworks, and artefacts dating to XIV through XIX centuries. The collection also includes important religious works by the great artist Onufri, who developed his activity in XVI century and his school of painters.
